New Method for Reporting
Smoking Vehicles

Reporting vehicles that emit dirty smoke has become simpler. The TNRCC now receives online reports of excess tailpipe exhaust at www.smokingvehicle.org. Internet users can easily report the license plate number of a smoking vehicle and the date, time, and location the observation was made. Graphic: Man driving smoking car.

The TNRCC will issue a letter to the vehicle owner and encourage the owner to voluntarily make the necessary repairs. Studies show that smoking vehicles contribute to air pollution all around Texas.

Smoking vehicle reports also can be made by calling this hotline: 1-800-453-SMOG (7664).
